This monograph is dedicated to examining the invaluable role of accent in communication interpretation. The subject of the study is the features of accent manifestation in monologue texts (lecture, political speech, drama) representing scientific, public speaking and artistic functional styles, highlighting mechanisms of influence through accent, revealing hidden meanings, which ensure effective communication, a phenomenon that is given special importance today in various areas of verbal communication, because owing to the accent, the message gets a more complete look at the level of perception.

The results of the study can be applied in such theoretical courses in which the impact on the addressee is important (theoretical phonology, functional stylistics, psycholinguistics), as well as included in practical English teaching courses, generating interest among PhD students, young researchers and students.
