This is the first research in the field of museum studies/museology in the Armenian language. It consists of three parts. The first part examines in detail the emergence and development of museums and museum work in Armenia from ancient times to the present day. The second part covers the theory and practice of museology. The third part covers the theoretical and practical foundations of nontraditional museum studies/museology. The appendix to the book provides a fairly complete list of Armenian museums around the world-by continent and country. S.H. Amiryan is also the author of the first textbook of “Archival Studies” in the Armenian language for higher educational institutions (Yerevan State University Publishing House, 2018).
