The  contributions  in  this  volume  address  questions  related  to  the  German language, literature, culture, and didactics from various perspectives within international and intercultural contexts. Their central aim is to establish an interdisciplinary  regional  dialogue  between  German  language,  literature, society,  and  politics;  to  reflect  on  current  educational  challenges  against the  backdrop  of  global  developments;  and  to  examine  the  role  of  cultureoriented  German  teaching  in  times  shaped  by  diversity  and  identity politics, including the transmission of country-specific knowledge.
