This collection of lectures is based on the “Armenian Ethnography” general course curricula delivered by the author over many years at the leading universities of the republic. The purpose of the publication is to present-through modern theoretical and methodological standards-the long journey of Armenian ethnographic science, its primary sources and history, the distinct spheres of Armenian ethno-cultural heritage, its characteristic traits and peculiarities, and the significant contribution of Armenian ethnography to the systemof world history and cultural heritage. Special emphasis is placed on the role of the Armenian Church in the preservation of national identity, the development of culture, and the formation of statehood.
