2012 SESSION OF YSU BOARD
Today, the final year-end session of YSU Board was held.

YSU Rector Aram Simonyan made the report on 2011/2012 academic year activities of YSU. YSU Rector, considering the year as a successful one, stressed on the fact that considerable work has been done in 2011/2012 academic year in the direction of the introduction of mechanisms for internal quality assurance and continuous improvement of quality. YSU Rector focused on the main areas of the activities in 2011/2012 academic year.

According to the report, achievements have been registered in the scientific-research area. In general, researches have been implemented in the area of more than 110 areas.

43 textbooks and more than 50 training manuals, as well about 80 methodological guides have been published in 2011/2012 academic year. The number of published scientific articles is around 1500. 80 monographs and more than 400 theses have been published, too.

According to YSU Rector one of the most important achievements is the launched process of institutional accreditation of YSU, which is implemented with the support of the international accrediting organizations and experts.

Achievements have also been registered in the sphere of the international cooperation. YSU continues to strengthen and develop international cooperation with more than 50 universities in 200 countries, as well as international organizations and institutions. 11 new agreements on cooperation have been signed in 2011/2012 academic year.

YSU Rector assured that large-scale activities have been implemented by the units of information technologies, public relations and student affairs. YSU Library stock has been replenished: here the requirements of the educational-research process have been taken into consideration. YSU Publishing House has published more than 130 books in 2011/2012 academic year.

YSU Rector Aram Simonyan presented the process of implementation of YSU Strategic Development Plan 2010-2014 and the performance of the complex program to combat corruption.

In addition to the above mentioned issues, YSU Revenue and Expenditure Performance 2012 (11 months), was presented, which was 7.660.183.000 AMD. According to the report reconstruction and renovation activities have been carried out. Renovation activities have been implemented in several buildings of YSU complex.

Aram Simonyan presented 2013 Financial Year Revenues and Expenditures Estimates, which is 8.761.000.000 AMD. He noted that 15-20% indexation of wages is included in 2013 Revenues and Expenditures Estimates.

The presentation of the report was followed by the discussions between members of the Board. It should be noted that students were actively involved in the discussions. They raised a number of issues, expecting the support of the Chairman of YSU Board Serzh Sargsyan.

A number of current issues were also discussed and proposals were made. Then the drafts on the proposed decisions on all the issues, included in the agenda, were adopted (Rectors report was assessed as satisfactory, 2013 Financial Year Revenues and Expenditures Estimates were approved).
