Nikol Aghbalyan Prize (Literary Studies) went to Samvel Muradyan, Head of Chair of History of Armenian Literature of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology. The above mentioned book is authored by him.

Samvel Muradyan has been engaged in the studies and publication of Hovhannes Shiraz’s works since 2011. This monograph includes the studies of the literary critic that has been made recently.

The work focuses on the artistic peculiarities of historical-philosophical, national and universal poems.

“In 2011, under the leadership of YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, it became possible to publish Shiraz’s “Ani”, which is unique in its kind. Other works were also published over time. In 2012, the first volume of the book was published. It is a great pleasure for me to get Nikol Aghbalyan’s prize,” - said Samvel Muradyan.

President of the Union of Writers of Armenia Edward Militonyan stated that this year also the best works were selected during the award ceremony.
