The books “The Armenian Heroine Women” and “Armenian Women in the Years of the Heroic Battles in the End of the 19th Century and Early 20th Century” show the different periods of history, including self-defense and heroic deeds of the women, as well as the Armenian national liberation struggle in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
The event, organized by YSU Military-patriotic Club “Vardanank” was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of History, Professor Edik Minasyan, Major General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos), Chairman of the “Freedom Fighter Women” NGO Aida Serobyan, “Anahit” squadron leader Anahit Martirosyan, Chairman of “Vardanank” Club Satenik Abrahamyan, Deputy Chairman Ruzanna Krpeyan, club members and others.
“We will educate the new generation on our women’s heroic example. Today, there are more girls enrolled in the army, who play inspiring role. We intend to publish new books, which will tell us about the heroines of our days,” - said Edik Minasyan.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn about how these books were written and also the author’s comments.
“We know only a part of the pages of our history, and there are parts that still should be learnt by us. These books are very useful,” - said Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.
Members of “Vardanank” Club students read excerpts from books, as well as sand patriotic songs during the meeting.
