More than two hundred books were exhibited in a separate section dedicated to the Armenian Genocide and the Armenian Question. These books have been published in the last 3 years.

The Armenian President, Chairman of YSU Board of Trustees Serzh Sargsyan, board members, heads of different departments and faculties attended the opening ceremony.

“Throughout its 95 years of activities YSU Publishing House has published more than 5500 books by 2500 authors and about 1 million pages of scientific material. The first book was published in 1920. This was Harvard University Professor William James’s textbook “Psychology,”” – said the Director of YSU Publishing House Karen Grigoryan.

This year, YSU Publishing House has participated in the exhibition, organized in the framework of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the International Book Fair “ArmBook Expo”, which was held on September 24-26. The exhibition was attended by more than 100 hundred of publishing houses from 50 countries and featured the literature (published in the last three years) exclusively on the Armenian Question and Armenian Genocide. By the way, YSU Publishing House has published the majority of books on this subject (34 titles) (followed by the Genocide Museum-Institute and “Zangak 97” Publishing House, 18 and 14 titles respectively).



This year YSU Publishing House has participated in the international book fairs in Paris, London, New York and Frankfurt. At the Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest in the world, 27 books about Armenia, the Armenian Question and the Armenian Genocide have been exhibited.

The new website of YSU Publishing House has been launched this year (http://publishing.ysu.am/). The information about the published literature and the expected releases is available via this website. Updated information about previous publications is available, too.

The catalog of new books has also been published this year. Various presentations have been organized at different faculties.

“In 2015 we expanded the cooperation with the Association of Publishing Houses of the European Universities, and we have officially submitted all the necessary documents for the full membership. We have continued the digitalization of the books, as well as works directed to the creation of e-books for Android, iOS and Kindle,” - says Mr. Grigoryan.
