YSU PUBLISHING HOUSE IS 90 YEARS OLD
Today, the 90th anniversary of YSU Publishing House was solemnly celebrated in the hall of YSU Academic Council.

The meeting was attended by YSU Rector, vice-rectors, representatives of professorial staff, Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, former director of the Armenian Division of Kulpenkyan Foundation Zaven Yekavyan, Editor in Chief of daily newspaper Azg Hakob Avetikyan, as well as other intellectuals and officials.

YSU Rector Aram Simonyan welcomed the participants in his opening speech and expressed his deep gratitude to all those who selflessly work for the benefit of the creation, development and propaganda of the Armenian book.

YSU Publishing House is the oldest publishing house in our republic, which has got a great contribution to the book printing, distribution and education of the population. It is, perhaps, the only publishing house, which has a pronounced orientation of the book printing. Our publishing house has also a great contribution to the educating the Armenian intellectuals, - said Aram Simonyan.

Congratulatory messages were also read by Minister Hasmik Poghosyan, Zaven Yekavyan, Dean of the Faculty of History Edik Minasyan, Head of Chair of the Armenian Literature Samvel Muradyan, Editor in Chief of Bulletin of Yerevan University Hrachik Mirzoyan.

I am glad that I have the opportunity to participate in this wonderful event. I congratulate all those who are somehow related to this work, which contributes to the development of nation. I am proud of every achievement and victory of my very dear Alma Mater, - said Minister Hasmik Poghosyan.

At the end of the event Hasmik Poghosyan awarded the Director of YSU Publishing House Perch Stepanyan and Zaven Yekavyan gold medals and diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.

The directorship of Matenadaran, on behalf of the Advisor to the Director Gurgen Gasparyan, awarded Perch Stepanyan the Medal after St. Mesrop Mashtots, and Zaven Yekavyan received the souvenir edition of Urbatagirk, first ever published Armenian book by Hakob Meghapart.

We should add that during the whole event, a number of valuable books, published by YSU Publishing House and Kyulpenkyan Foundation, were exhibited in different sections on the 5th floor of YSU Main Building.
